A dream of mine came true – climbing Japan’s highest mountain Fuji-san.

I wanted to do this for a long time, but even when living in Japan never got around to do it. During this years Japan vacation I finally got around to it and even was lucky with the weather.

I decided to start climbing in the afternoon and stay in a hut near the top to be able to see the sunrise from top of mount Fuji the next morning. It took me 5 h to get to the hut at 3450 meter. The final climb to the summit at 3776 meter before sunrise took 1,5 h, due to the large amount of people. It was very exhausting but the view was absolutely worth it.
