Just arrived at my host family in Fukuoka.

Tadaima [ただいま] can be translated as “Here I am” or “I’m home” and is said for instance when you come home and enter the door. For me it’s the feeling I got everytime I come back to Japan and Fukuoka in particular. It kinda feels like my second home. I will probably post more on Fukuoka in future post, in this I want to introduce my host family. I thought after apartment, dorm, shared house I have to try host family as well (at least for the first month that I’ll be in Fukuoka). Hopefully I’ll get some much needed speaking training this way.
I live with Mr. & Ms. Hayakawa. They have a house in the suburbs of Fukuoka. Mr. Hayakawa runs a shiatsu clinic and Ms. Hayakawa teaches Shiatsu at this clinic. They have a grown up son and daughter and 6 grandkids. Both are nice and very skilled at cooking 🙂
