Summer vacation in the south of Kyushu on Yakushima.

This summer I went to the south of Kyushu to go to the little island of Yakushima, which is also a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. It’s most famous for it’s mystical forest which was the inspiration for Hayao Miyazaki to create the famous anime “Princess Mononoke”. Furthermore it’s the nesting ground for the loggerhead sea turtle. I was fortuned enough to see these little baby turtles crawl to the surface and find their way to the ocean.
