First stop on my island hopping tour – Kuroshima.

This winter I decided to come back to Ishigaki Island and visit some more of it’s small (and big) neighbour islands.

Kuroshima means black island. The island is also known as heart island since it has a heart shape when viewed from above. Only about 200 people live on this island and it has far more cows than people, so it’s also known as the island of cows.
