Shanghai’s Nightlife is just as crazy/interesting/strange as Beijing’s.

You see chinese doing Taichi, taking dance lessons on public places or just having dinner in the streets with friends. In the clubs the decorations are totally over top (e.g. shark aquarium at Club Mint) and all have some crazy midnight shows. Furthermore Shanghai has these really cool rooftop bars from which you can see the lights of the Pudong skyline.
