I can now check off the first must see item of my list – the Great Wall.
Last saturday one of the iMandarin staff members took us to the Badaling section of the Great Wall 80km north of Beijing. Since the train was to packed we decided to take a taxi to the Great Wall. Transportation here is pretty cheap (1,5h taxi ride: 16 Euros each). Entrance fee at the Great Wall was only 12 Euro (including a cable car ride to the top).
The Ba Da Ling section is probably the most visited section of the Great Wall. It’s 3,7km long and took us 2h to walk, since its very steep and was packed with tourists. Back to Beijing we took the Bus, which cost 2,5 Euro. So all in all it was a very nice and surprisingly cheap day trip to the Great Wall.
