Now I can checkmark a couple more items from the must see list – The forbidden city, the Beijing Opera house & Qian men
Last saturday we (three iMandarin students) went to the forbidden city. The forbidden city is really it’s own city as it took us several hours to walk through it. On the other site of the forbidden city is Jingshan Park from which you have a great view over the forbidden city and Beijing (if the pollution is not that bad). On our way to Qian Men we passed the Beijing opera house. In Qian Men itself is an avenue with a lot of shopping and dining places. The interesting part is that the buildings were made to look like Beijing in the old days.
